In short

Inclusion Studio is learner support software being built with England further education and apprenticeship providers. It is pre-pilot: a clickable prototype with fictional learners exists, and the production application is in development.

Inclusion Studio is learner support software for England’s further education colleges and apprenticeship providers. It helps staff hear what helps a learner, agree a support plan the learner has seen, record what was delivered and review whether it worked. This page explains what we are trying to do, where we are and how we work.

What is our mission?

We are building software that makes support for learners better in ways that can be shown, and easier for the people who deliver it. In practice that means four commitments:

  1. Measurable learner benefit. Support should help learners stay on, take part and achieve what they set out to do. We want to be able to show whether it does, using evidence from real use, and we will not claim outcomes we have not measured.
  2. Practitioner usefulness. Inclusion leads, tutors and assessors are busy. If a feature adds paperwork and no value, it should not be built. Recording should be quick, and the result should save time later.
  3. Accessibility. A product about inclusion must be usable by disabled people. We are targeting WCAG 2.2 AA and will test with assistive technology before real use.
  4. Trustworthy operation. Learner support records are sensitive. We aim for narrow access, honest descriptions of where data is processed, and independent review before any real learner data is used.

Success, including any recognition, is something we hope evidence will support. It is not something we claim in advance.

What stage are we at?

We are pre-pilot. Here is what that means, plainly:

  • A clickable prototype exists. It uses five fictional learners and illustrative figures, keeps data in memory only, and resets when you refresh the page.
  • The production application is in development. It uses synthetic data only.
  • No real learner data is held. We have no customers yet and no certifications. Launch prices are on the pricing page.
  • The first pilot will be with England FE and apprenticeship providers.

You can read more about what exists in the platform overview and what is coming in the roadmap.

Who is behind it?

Inclusion Studio is operated by Tech Geek UK Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 09834597, VAT registration number GB325122836). We have chosen not to publish biographies or a history until there is something to verify. If you want to talk to a person about the pilot, use the contact page.

What principles do we work to?

  • Learner voice first. The record starts from what the learner says helps. See learner voice.
  • Agreement, not imposition. Learners see their plan. If they disagree, that is recorded, not hidden.
  • Honest labels. Every capability is marked as in the prototype, in development, planned or later. We never describe something as live when it is not.
  • People decide. AI is optional, clearly labelled and reviewed by a person. It never diagnoses, refuses support or makes decisions. See our AI principles.
  • Least access. Permissions are enforced on the server by organisation, relationship and field. Employers see workplace adjustments, not the learner’s history.
  • Software supports the process; the provider remains responsible. We do not promise compliance, inspection outcomes or an “inclusion score”.
  • Start with synthetic data. Real learner data is used only after security, privacy and accessibility review.
  • Say what we do not know. Where a decision is open, such as where real learner data would be processed by AI or the malware scanning service, we say so.

What do we not do?

We do not publish customer logos, testimonials or statistics, because we have no customers. We do not claim certifications, endorsements or partnerships we do not hold. We do not give legal advice: our guides explain duties and good practice, link to primary sources and say when to take professional advice.

How do the products and the guides fit together?

The free guides, templates and tools on this site are meant to be useful whether or not you ever use our software. The software exists because following good practice consistently, across many learners and staff, is hard without a shared record. Read why Inclusion Studio for the reasoning, and how it works for the support journey.

How can you take part?

If you work in an England FE college or apprenticeship provider and want to help shape the pilot, see the pilot page. You can also get in touch on the contact page with questions, corrections or concerns about this site.

Help shape the pilot

We are working with a small number of England FE colleges and apprenticeship providers first. Tell us about your learner support and we will be in touch.
