Accessibility statement for the Inclusion Studio website

The Inclusion Studio accessibility statement: how accessible this website is, the WCAG 2.2 AA standard we work to, how to report a problem and updates.

Updated
In short

We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. It has not yet been independently tested, so we cannot yet claim it conforms. Tell us about any problem through our contact page and we will respond and fix what we can.

This Inclusion Studio accessibility statement applies to the Inclusion Studio marketing website, the pages you are reading now. It does not cover the Inclusion Studio application, which is still in development. We will publish a separate statement for the application before any provider uses it with real learners.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Many of the people we build for are disabled, and so are many of the staff who support them. An inaccessible website would undermine everything we say.

What standard are we aiming for?

We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the current W3C recommendation. Our guide to WCAG 2.2 for education software explains what that standard covers.

What should you be able to do on this website?

We have designed the website so that you should be able to:

  • navigate using only a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator;
  • use a “skip to main content” link to bypass the navigation;
  • zoom text up to 200% and use the site at narrow widths without content being lost;
  • use the site with a screen reader, with one main heading per page and headings in a logical order;
  • turn off animation, because the site respects your device’s reduced-motion setting;
  • read pages without cookies, pop-ups or tracking banners getting in the way.

The fonts are loaded from this website rather than a third party, and text is real text rather than images of text.

How accessible is this website today?

We cannot yet say that the website fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA, because it has not been independently tested. Our build process runs automated checks, for example for missing page titles, missing image alternative text, multiple main headings and broken internal links. Automated checks find only some accessibility problems. They do not replace manual testing with keyboards, screen readers, magnification and speech recognition, or testing with disabled people.

We know of no specific failures at the time of writing. That is not the same as having none. If you find one, please tell us.

How do I report an accessibility problem or ask for another format?

Contact us through our contact page. Tell us:

  • the web address (URL) of the page;
  • what you were trying to do and what went wrong;
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing that.

If you need information from this website in a different format, such as large print, plain text or an accessible document, ask in the same way. We aim to acknowledge messages within 5 working days and to tell you what we will do and when.

What is the enforcement procedure?

Inclusion Studio is a private company, not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to this website directly. We still follow the structure of the government’s model accessibility statement because it is a clear, familiar format.

As a provider of services, we have duties under the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is the regulator responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for free advice.

What about the Inclusion Studio application?

The application is designed with accessibility in mind from the start, including larger record text and reduced motion settings in the prototype. Our target for the production application is WCAG 2.2 AA, with manual assistive technology checks on the critical journeys. See accessibility features for what is planned. Automated checks alone will not be treated as enough.

When will the Inclusion Studio accessibility statement be updated?

We will update this statement after the website has been independently tested, and list any failures we find with our plan to fix them. We will also review it whenever we make significant changes to the website. Independent accessibility testing is one of the items on our assurance roadmap.

This statement was prepared on 9 October 2026. The website has not yet been independently tested.
